President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III on Wednesday said he will support Vice President Jejomar Binay's request for an official residence and office.
"If he believes there is such a need, I'll support that move," Aquino said in his first press conference in Malacanang.
The president said Binay's request was reasonable, as the Office of the Vice President has no official office and residence.
He said Binay had talked to him before the inauguration about this problem and about the small budget for the OVP.
On Monday, Binay's camp said they are eyeing the Coconut Palace as Binay's possible office and home.
“We will determine its suitability as residence when its renovation would have been completed in about four months time," Binay’s spokesman JV Bautista said earlier in a text message to GMANews.TV.
